Ian Kruger

Born in 1973, I spent the majority of my childhood split between the Lowveld town of Phalaborwa and the capital city of Pretoria. At a young age, with my first Mammals of the Kruger National Park guide in hand, I realized that this is where my passion was buried. My infatuation with the wildlife and various environs of Africa never wavered but steadily grew in depth and curiosity. Once I articulated my intentions of becoming a "Ranger," my path remained the same.

I have worked within the Wildlife and Tourism Industry since 1994 and acquired valuable insight and knowledge of South Africa's Zululand and Lowveld regions; Namibia's Chobe and Kwando regions; and Botswana's Chobe, Savuti, and Moremi regions.

I believe in providing an experience that leads each guest towards capturing the spirit of the African bush and local culture, to embrace the history of traditional Safaris and tracking experiences…….a practice that gets people in touch with their senses and the various aspects of the environment. I love to spend time exploring the most remarkably overlooked and integral role players within the environment as well as the various relationships between the bush and man in the form of medicinal and traditional uses.
