Some of my earliest childhood memories include sitting on the kitchen counter as a little girl, top-and-tailing green-beans or spilling peas, helping my doting grandmother to prepare delicious meals for our nearest and dearest. From here I became a "Foodie". Other memories are of our family outings, on many trips to the National Parks, sitting on my dad’s lap in the vehicle, pretending to drive and documenting the animal sightings on a mini-recorder. From here I became a Nature Lover. It developed into what would be my two passions – Food & Wildlife.
Born and raised in Pretoria, I studied at the Prue Leith Chefs Academy, specializing in the Pastry Department, concurrent with a Preliminary Wine Course from The Cape Wine Academy. After graduating with merit, I worked for 5 star Boutique Hotels in Pretoria and Johannesburg, and also at a 5* Luxury Lodge in the Pafuri Region in the most northern part of Kruger National Park.
My style of cuisine is eclectic, a classic formally trained background combined with Pan-African-Chic and a Continental Fusion twist!
My food philosophy is 'Fresh and Pure'. To stay close to the ground, back to the basics – to use the best quality, seasonal ingredients in such a way so as to expose their characteristic flavours optimally, and to experiment with different combinations, textures and tastes to bring out the essence of whatever it is being made. And to do it all with Relish.
