I was born and raised in Durban - a sunny city on South Africa's East Coast with sandy beaches and the warm Indian Ocean. As a child, family holidays were taken in the Game Reserves of Northern Kwa-Zulu Natal only a few hours drive away. As a typical South African - I have fond memories of a Volkswagen khombi packed with friends and family and "padkos" (food for the road), driving through different parks seeing the Big Five. At an early age, I had dreams of working with animals and living in the bush.

After finishing high school, I took a gap year and realised my love of travel and adventure and reached America, Canada and the UK. Therafter I returned home and completed a Bachelor of Commerce Degree at University, with majors in Management, Marketing and Economics. For the next three years I worked in Marketing and Project Management for large coporations both in London and in South Africa and travelled extensively in Central Europe.

In early 2009 after feeling a little jaded with the corporate environment I decided to follow my dreams and bring myself back to the African bush where my heart never left. I moved to Tanzania and worked at Mwagusi Safari Camp owned by Chris Fox in Ruaha National Park. Finally I had found my place in the world and reconnected with my love of Africa - the people, the wildlife and the changing seasonal landscapes. I discovered my passion and love for the hospitality industry and my fondness for making one's safari experience extaordinary and extra special.

As a lodge manager, I have a professional and flexible approach - prioritising to make guests feel special with unique personal touches. For me, a friendly and relaxing atmosphere is essential where guests feel welcome in a heartbeat.
